Vienna Recordia 2010 – Day of World Records

It’s records time again! On the 26th September 2010 at the Vienna Prater, the oldest amusement park in the world- the major international world record event, named Vienna Recordia, takes place the fifth time. Come to the Prater and be part of it!

This day of superlatives promises spectacular record attempts, to participate in as well as to marvel at! From the attempt to collect the milk of a coconut with the bare hands to the trial to destroy as many baseball bats as possible with one hand – last year again several record attempts managed to gain an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

With more than 10,000 enthusiastic visitors the event was a great success. Here are some impressions of the last years of the Vienna Recordia:

 

Largest man

Sultan Kösen from Turkey is the tallest living man on earth with a height of 246,5 cm. In the year 2009 he visited the Vienna Recordia.

Longest Wiener Schnitzel

Spectacular was the preparation of the longest Wiener Schnitzel of the world. The delicacy had a length of 9,55 meters and served for a free meal for 500 guests including gratis salad.

Strongest Man

The strongest man Franz Müllner managed to turn a 600 kg Fiat 8 times around in 5 minutes in 2009. At Vienna Recordia 2007 he already accomplished to pull a 60-ton heavy truck over a distance of 20 meters. In 2006 a 1.8 ton helicopter landed on his shoulders.

Car cramming – Smart Car

15 cheerleaders from the Viennese American football team Vienna Vikings fitted themselves inside a small Smart car.

Most coconuts crushed by hand

Muhamed Kahrimanovic smashed 83 coconuts with his bare hands. Furthermore Muhamed already holds the record of destroying 65 beer cans in one minute with the hands.

Most people solving crosswords

The biggest crossword contained 443 people who intensely puzzled about the crossword for 10 minutes.

This year’s Vienna Recordia is again peppered with reams of attractions. Of course access to the event is free and in addition taking part at several record attempts means a great opportunity to win a lot of prizes.
